Snafu Brewing Company

Snafu Brewing Company is an independent brewery and taproom in North Charleston, founded and run by brewer Scott Koon, and it has built its identity around fruit-heavy sour beers. Many of its smoothie-style sours borrow ideas from Italian ice, candy and desserts, and the brewery has won back-to-back gold medals for smoothie sours at the Best of Craft Beer Awards. More than a dozen taps pour at once, mostly sours, with an IPA, a stout and a lager usually available for those who prefer something conventional, plus non-alcoholic options. The warehouse taproom is casual, with couches, ping pong, pool and retro video game consoles. Food comes from the house Snafud truck and rotating trucks several times a week, and guests may bring their own food. Dogs are welcome, with treats made from spent brewing grain, and supervised kids have games and coloring books.
