Freehouse Brewery – North Charleston

Freehouse Brewery is an organic brewery and taproom in North Charleston, set along the Ashley River; the company also runs a taproom in downtown Walhalla. Organic ingredients sit at the center of its approach, and the brewery avoids pesticides, chemical fertilizers, GMOs and artificial ingredients, pointing to both flavor and the chemical runoff that harms water sources. The beer is meant to be seasonal, easy to drink and shaped by the riverside setting, and the range runs from traditional lagers and hoppy IPAs to barrel-aged beers and sours fermented with a yeast strain the brewery cultivates itself.
