Freehouse Brewery – Walhalla

Freehouse Brewery runs a taproom and kitchen in downtown Walhalla, set in the Blue Ridge foothills. It is the mountain-side sibling of the brewery’s North Charleston location, and the whole operation is built around organic brewing. Freehouse aims for seasonal, easy-drinking beer that takes its cues from the surrounding landscape. The range covers classic lagers and hoppy IPAs as well as barrel-aged beers and sours fermented with a yeast strain the brewery cultivates itself. The Walhalla taproom serves food, which can also be ordered online, and has a patio where dogs are welcome. Its downtown spot makes it an easy stop for anyone driving up toward the mountains, and the space can be reserved for private gatherings and parties.
