Swamp Rabbit Brewery

Swamp Rabbit Brewery and Taproom is a family-owned brewery in Travelers Rest, opened in March 2014 by Ben and Teresa Pierson. Their brewing story goes back to the early 1980s, when Teresa gave Ben a homebrew kit. Ben later interned and trained with brewers in the United States and Germany, including at Goose Island and D.L. Geary, and served as brewmaster at breweries in Florida, Illinois, Indiana and the Carolinas, among them Greenville’s Downtown Brewing Company; he has also consulted widely. Their daughter Caitlin, a former attorney, is general manager, and her husband Andrew Myers has brewed on the 10-barrel system since 2015. Beers on the list have ranged from a Czech-style pilsner, a Munich helles and a Märzen to an American stout with oats and a pale ale named for the Swamp Rabbit Trail. Wine, cider, hard seltzer, non-alcoholic beer and canned beer to go are also available.
