Kite Hill Brewing

Kite Hill Brewing Co. opened in 2021 in Clemson’s Patrick Square community, becoming the town’s first brewery. Founders Bobby Congdon and Bryon Leggett first crossed paths in 1998 at WSBF, Clemson University’s student radio station, and spent three years hunting for the right site in town. The taproom pours from 16 taps of beer brewed on site and looks out over the brewhouse, while a large roll-up door opens onto a patio and beer garden with lawn games. The kitchen is a real reason to visit, turning out Southern-inspired pub fare: shareable plates like an oversized pretzel served with pimento cheese and spicy beer mustard made in house, a cheese board and a long list of sandwiches. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free choices are available, along with a kids’ menu. Leashed dogs are welcome outside, live music is a regular feature, and tours of the brewing operation are offered.
