Two Blokes Brewing – Mount Pleasant

Two Blokes Brewing opened in Mount Pleasant in 2016, founded by friends Matty Symons and Sean Geddis, who left tech jobs to start a small brewery just outside Charleston. Symons, an Australian with more than two decades of brewing experience, created the early beers, and after Geddis moved on about 18 months in, Symons and his wife Evelyn ran the business. Symons died unexpectedly in 2020, and Evelyn and taproom manager Michelle Lapp carried the brewery through the pandemic. Rhett and Haley Anderson bought Two Blokes in April 2023 and later added a second taproom downtown, and the owners regularly work behind the bar. The beer leans approachable, with lagers, German-style beers, sours, golden ales and IPAs among staff favorites. Local food trucks supply the food, and recurring events include weekly trivia, a monthly puzzle competition and live music on the patio.
