Southern Barrel Brewing Company

Southern Barrel Brewing Co. opened in Bluffton in 2015 as one of the early craft breweries in the Lowcountry, and it has long paired its house beer with a full-service restaurant. The kitchen serves dishes with local and Lowcountry influences every day the brewery is open, and the bar adds cocktails, wine and soft drinks for anyone not drinking beer. In 2025 the business changed hands, and the new owners kept the same easygoing, unpretentious approach rather than overhauling it. The property is large enough to handle groups of any size without a reservation, with a big outdoor patio and a bar where guests can sample through the lineup. A busy calendar of recurring activities includes trivia, live music, line dancing, family game nights, football watch parties and oyster roasts.
