Seminar Brewing

Seminar Brewing in Florence is one of the earliest commercial breweries in the Pee Dee, started in 2014 by several university professors along with friends. The brewery aims to be the center of beer culture in the region, and its well-known Pixels IPA leads a list of lagers and ales in a wide range of styles. Food is a major part of the visit: Elliott’s BBQ Lounge is run by Florence native Elliott Moss, who spent about two decades as a chef in Asheville before returning home, and he smokes meat over pecan wood in a pit next to the dining room. The bar also pours wine and spirits. A pet-friendly beer garden hosts live music and parties, and the brewery is set up for families. Seminar beer is distributed in kegs and cans around the state.
